A Visit from Mayor Durkan

A Visit from Mayor Durkan

Earlier this year, West African Community Council was visited by Mayor Durkan, following her exciting decision to include WACC as one of three new official partner agencies of the Seattle Preschool Program!

Having provided Early Education services for over a decade, WACC is well aware of the disruptive impact this last year has had on children and families, especially within our BIPOC and refugee and immigrant community. For this reason, we are thrilled that this dramatic new partnership will allow WACC to help SPP serve up to 2,600 children 3-4 years old by 2026, providing quality, and culturally responsive education and early learning practices to those who are most overlooked and underserved.

“In West African culture, success is not limited to having a good job and food on the table but includes how one helps their family, friends, and neighbors to attain the same educational and professional momentum they have achieved.”

Issa Ndiaye, Founder and Executive Director of WACC
