West African Community Council partners with 16 local West African Country Associations including Malian, Guinean, Senegalese, Ivorian, Nigerian, Gambian, Liberian, Burkina Faso, Mauritanian, Guinea-Bissau, Benin, Cape Verde, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Togo and Niger. Joint collaboration with our fellow West African associate organizations unites our various cultures and languages, and allows us to provide a more tailored service program to our community members. Through these partnerships we are able to accurately represent West African immigrants in King County, as well as share resources, information, and referrals to expand the scope of our work and the measurable impact within the King County immigrant and refugee community.
In addition to our West African country associates, we have built strong relationships with City and State government bodies, securing a seat at the table where community decisions and efforts are designed, so that we can advocate needs and dismantle barriers within our community. Through these connections we are able to leverage public dollars to create equitable change within West African and newly arrived immigrant and refugee communities. We are incredibly thankful for the work that we’ve accomplished with the help of our dear partners whose logos we’ve posted below.
