WACC LABOR ADVOCACY PROGRAM
In July 2024, the West African Community Council was awarded a grant to partner with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) Worker Outreach and Education Program. The purpose of this partnership is to provide L&I related workplace rights and safety outreach to underserved workers in Washington state.
Our role is to provide seasoned personnel with outreach advocacy experience to help promote awareness of worker rights and safety. When worker rights or safety complaints need to be filed, WACC will find the right people at L&I to help, and we can assist where language may be an issue. WACC also organizes workshops, community events, or virtual meetings via WhatsApp or group calls to help you understand your labor and safety rights.
You are also encouraged to visit L&I’s website any time at Lni.wa.gov.
At WACC, we are fluent in multiple languages from Africa. Our team can provide one-on-one or group assistance in your language of preference. Visit this page to learn about workshops and community event announcements.
